\nThe Golden Hind took the name of the Golden Biche represented on the coat of arms of the Lord C.C. Hatton family, which finished the circumnavigation of the Globe of Sir Franceis Drake, which, on December 13, 1577 aboard the Golden Hind Galion, fitted, with four Other boats for the most famous trip in English naval history. After having hardly crossed the Magellan Strait because of terrible storms during which two boats were sinking, he tackled in the port of Valparaiso. He then rubbed shoulders with the coasts of Chile and Peru, looting Spanish ports and ships and capturing a huge booty. He went up to California, probably to try to discover the passage to northwest so long sought. He continued his trip towards the Moluccians and Java, doubled the Cape of Bonne-Espérance to return after three years to England, thus completing his trip around the world.
