Jan.\nThe crisures of the Agano class were designed in the 1930s to replace the boats in the Tenryu, Kuma and Nagara classes. Longer than their predecessors, the Agano cruisers were rapid but with light protection and were under armament for their size. Completed on October 31, 1942, the name Agano name participated in the battles of Guadalcanal and in the battles of the Solomon Islands in 1943. He was widely touched by the planes on board the USS Saratoga and USS Princeton in the bay of Rabaul and received A torpedo during an attack in November. It was sunk on February 16, 1944 by the American sub -sailor Uss Skate.
