\nThe Studebaker Golden Hawk received a brand new mechanics in 1957. The V8 289Ci was added an McCulloh compressor allowing 275hp to be released. The addition of the compressor has driven the cover of the hood with the installation of a fiberglass bump to leave it enough space. Thanks to the compressor, the Golden Hawk could compete with the Chrysler 300B, the Ford Thunderbird and the Corvette of the time. This car was relatively light, with a transmission to the rear wheels and benefited from a good weight/power ratio.
